Welcome! You joined the membership of MWA. Now what?

How to get more involved in the action:

  • You can see some upcoming meetings and events below in the MWA members calendar - and you can add the calendar to your devices HERE.

  • Meet other members and introduce yourself at an event/meeting, via google groups or slack, etc.

  • MWA’s active 2024 working committees are currently:

    • Fair Recording Pledge - working to create a minimum standard in the indie recording sector.

    • AI Committee - researching policy and working to create fair pay norms for music workers as this technology emerges.

    • We also discuss new campaigns and initiatives regularly - based on capacity any ideas are welcome!

To join one of these working groups - email us!

  • A lot of the committee work happens through Google Groups and occasionally on Slack (a free digital organizing tool for group communication and work). If you want to get involved, come to a meeting or action found on the calendar. You can also reach out to MusicWorkersAlliance@gmail.com. If you don’t yet have a Slack account and need a link, reach out!

  • Pay your membership dues. Why dues? Raising money through dues ensures that our organization is accountable to its members. The more our finances come directly from our members, the more confident we can be that this organization belongs solely to us and is responsive to our interests.

Dues also ensure that we, as MWA members, are committed to MWA’s mission. We chose to be a part of this organization because we believe in the value of its work. By joining MWA, we are not merely signing an online petition or casting a ballot on election day — we belong to an organization that we create—and own—together.
